TRIP OVERVIEW
Journey from southern South America to Tasmania through the Drake Passage, Antarctic Peninsula, Bellingshausen Sea, Amundsen Sea and Ross Sea, reaching remote West Antarctic waters beyond conventional routes.
This is a reference structure for an approximately 31-day Ushuaia-to-Hobart semi-circumnavigation. Remote waters have few fixed ports, and the track and landings depend heavily on sea ice, weather, permits and rescue constraints.

DAY BY DAY
Leave the Beagle Channel, cross the Drake Passage and seek a first landing in the South Shetlands or Antarctic Peninsula when conditions permit.

Work south along the western Peninsula with Zodiac cruises, landings and wildlife watches, gradually approaching the Antarctic Circle as ice allows.

Enter rarely visited West Antarctic waters, crossing Bellingshausen sea ice before reaching the Amundsen sector for immense tabular icebergs, ice shelves, whales and seals.

Explore available coastal leads, ice-shelf margins, volcanic islands or historic areas in the Ross Sea as conditions determine.

Leave Antarctica for Tasmania with expert lectures, wildlife watches and expedition reviews before arrival in Hobart.
