TRIP OVERVIEW
Add valuable exploration time to the classic ship-based Peninsula voyage, typically allowing about six days across the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula for more landings, Zodiac cruises and weather flexibility.
This page describes a common structure for an approximately 13-day in-depth Peninsula voyage, not a fixed programme for every operator. About six days is a typical Antarctic exploration window; actual sites, activity frequency and sequence remain subject to weather, sea ice, wildlife, permits and safety decisions by the captain and expedition team.

DAY BY DAY
Board in the world’s southernmost port city, meet the expedition team, complete safety briefings and sail into the Beagle Channel.

Sail south with lectures on polar ecology, photography and landing practice while watching the decks for albatrosses, petrels and whales.

On reaching the Antarctic region, use the best wind, swell and ice window for a volcanic shore, penguin habitat or sheltered Zodiac cruise.

Keep about six days for the Peninsula, combining possible continental landings, penguin colonies, glacial bays and Zodiac cruises. The team selects each day’s most suitable sites according to weather, sea ice, wildlife activity, permits and safety.

Sail north for further seabird and whale watches, expedition recaps and a final passage through the Beagle Channel before disembarkation on Day 13.
