This is the most approachable introduction to Svalbard: a week aboard an expedition ship, sailing from Longyearbyen into fjords where glaciers, tundra and historic landing sites sit close together.
The expedition team builds each day around current wind, swell, sea ice and wildlife activity. Landings and Zodiac cruises are selected locally, so the route shown here is a framework rather than a guaranteed sequence.

Days 2–3
Western Spitsbergen
Explore glacier-fed fjords and tundra shores, with landings or Zodiac cruises chosen according to local conditions.
Days 4–6
North-west Corner and Sea Ice
Search responsibly for wildlife around walrus haul-outs, bird cliffs and the navigable edge of the pack ice.
Day 7
Return Through Isfjorden
Use the final expedition day for another landing or cruise where weather, ice and operating permissions allow.
Day 8
Disembark in Longyearbyen
Return to Longyearbyen after breakfast and connect with onward arrangements, leaving sensible time for schedule changes.
